A friend and I are looking for a relatively quiet and conveniently located place to stay in Bocas (ideally not on Colon, but we're not super picky) for 3 nights at the beginning of March. High end hostel/low end hotel price range. However, not having much luck hearing back from places we've called/emailed. So, to those who've traveled that way recently: What are the odds of finding a decent place to stay upon early morning arrival? As well, if anyone has any particular favorite places to stay (or web sites other than bocas.com) or locations to visit, I'd appreciate the feedback. Thanks a lot in advance!

You can always check availability and make a reservation on-line with a credit card at Bahia Del Sol Bed and Breakfast in Bocas Del Toro. This is my place and if we are full or you wish to stay elsewhere I can make some recommendations based on price range.

Let me know.

there are places on the other islands, like solarteinn.com and hotelcaribbeanview@yahoo.com on bastimentos

lots of places... and after carnival, they will all have space!

We stayed at Banana Inn on Colon and were happy with the place. It was clean, had a fan, refrig. and great shower/tub. It is located next to the airport and a couple of blocks from the main bustl8ing loud hostel area. I sugguest Lemongrass upstairs dining spot for Thai food.

In Bocas my family and I were very pleased with the Hotel del Parque, a small hotel with a convenient location facing the central park. For details, photos, and contact information visit Our Travel Journals, http://www.evcal.org , go to the "Panama" section and then click on "Bocas del Toro".
