I don't seem to find the info I need for where the "main" party is located in Bocas del Toro? Which island should I pick?
I want to live with walking distance, in some hostel without bed bugs but so that I can walk home at night and be safe.

What hostel can you recommend and what area? Where in Bocas does all the action happen? thanks!

Most of the group party takes place in the small town on the main island Isla Colon so you can choose from any of the dozens of hostels and be within a ten minute walk to anywhere. The main "clubs" are Barco Hundido, Aqua Lounge (which is a one minute water taxi away on Isla Colon), and La Iguana. There are tons of bars as well. Where you stay depends on what you like. Nice and over the water is Casa Verde. It has a bar but is fairly mellow compared to the more party type places like Mondo Taitu. My suggestion is find a place for the night and look around for places you are more comfortable at.

Mondo Taitu (I think) is a hostel/bar that seemed to be rocking every night. Their music certainly kept us up at night.

Bocas Town is tiny and has tons of bars. Anywhere you stay will really be close to the party.

Mondo is where alot of people start as they have .50 cent beer happy hour from 7-8. It has to close at 12 so people make their way somewhere else, whereever that nights ladies night is.

Thanks guys! I'll try the casa verde since I read some really horrible reviews of the Mondo place! :S

For a hostel in downtown Bocas del Toro very close to the party scene but a bit quieter than other places you can look at Tungara Hostel just across the municipality building...

And for a recent account about what nightlife in Bocas del Toro is all about I recommend the following blog post with info about Mondo Taitu, Barco Hundido, Aqua Lounge, etc...
