According to the LP office, the next edition on Panama is not due out until November 2010.However is there a need for a more current edition since the last was so outdated almost immediately?

I personally don't need/want it with the new Moon Handbook that came out last fall in hand.

I second the recommendation for Moon - that's what we used.

C'mon guys! Vote for a new one!! The address and phone number of my place are both wrong in the old edition, the sooner a new one comes out, the better for me! There's also a number of other places that have moved or recently opened.

To keep up with Panama's rapid developement, travel publications need to update their editions at least once a year. Afer all, Panama's national bird is the construction crane...

I used the L.P. the last 3 yrs. and it worked for me. Things change all the time everywhere, just ask ??? to other travelers and locals and you will do just fine. The main attractions won't change much. It's much better to fly by the seat of your pants and a lot more fun.

We had both the Moon Guide and LP and found the Moon Guide much more helpful. Both worked fine and we had no problem locating hotels, restaurants, etc - and found the reviews pretty accurate.
