What are the best US currencies to bring to Nicaragua for exchange? I've heard $1, $5 and $10 are best, but what are easiest to exchange on the street and bank? Thanks.

We are going to Nicaragua and after a week in Granada, Ometepe etc. we are headed for the Corn Islands and will fly back from there. I understand that there is a one bag and 40 lb.weight limit on that flight. Does anyone know if there is any luggage storage at the airport in Managua or elsewhere in the city?

The boat from San Carlos arrives in Altagracia at about midnight. What options do I have to spend the night? I have been twice in Altagracia but never saw the harbour, how far is it from town? So as I said in another post, i'll be traveling to Nica in April...traveling to Grenada and Leon.

I wanted to do San Juan Del Sur, or at least see it...but being that i'll only be there for 7 days, i really doubt I have the time (even though i'm going to rent a car)

I'm going to be in Managua able to leave by mid morningish. Thing is, what to do until my flight at 7am on Monday from Managua:

1. Stay in Managua

2. Day trips from Managua to Granada etc.

3. Go to Granada on Saturday then go back Sunday afternoon, stay in Managua overnight then get 7am flight

4. Go to Granada on Saturday then get Paxeos to pick me up at 4am from Granada to catch flight. this is my favoured option but I'm looking for reports that they are reliable at…

I know this is a real general question but I am just going to throw it out. I have 10 days. I want to settle in one spot. I just want to surf, drink cold beers, enjoy the locals, and chill in my cheap bungalow near the beach. I am a "no frills" kind of guy. Should I go to Nicaraqua or Panama? And where specifically?

I will be making my first visit to Nicaragua in a few weeks. As I travel, I often like to buy a painting or two or sometimes a sculpture or similar artwork. Does anyone have experience in shipping such items from Granada or Leon to the United States? I'd welcome any advice. Thanks!

1) is it possible to return from Isla de Ometepe on a Sunday? We will visit from wednesday to sunday but have heard that transport can be sketchy on sunday. Has anybody returned from Ometepe to Granada on a Sunday? Any advice? We will prob be staying at Charco Verde.

2) Apart from taking Paxeos, what is the next easiest way to get to and from the airport?

i)Our flight TO the corn islands leaves at 630 am, is there any public transport that would get us to the airport by 5:30?
