Hi Everyone,

My friend and i are goign to Nicaragua for 2 weeks. We are starting out in Granada for 3 or 4 nights and ending with the Corn Islands for the last 6 days, but haven't decided what to do in between. Any suggestions? It would be about 3 or 4 days.

Cheers,

Hi, we are planning on spending a few days in Nicaragua and may spend more if we find it's better for us than Costa Rica (everything in CR seems to cost twice as much and I'm not sure if the service is any different).

Here are some questions since we will only have a few days to explore, My original plan was to start in Granada (we are coming from CR)but maybe we could go in through the other border w/CR if possible.

We want to see monkeys up close. I understand there are monkey islands that…

Hi there,

it may be a stupid question but im going to put it anyway. I was traveling in ca last year for 4 weeks and i took sneakers with me but i actually never need them.

This year im heading to nicaragua and im wondering if i need sneakers to get into bars / clubs in Granada / Leon or if flip flops are ok as well? If not im just taking flip flops and hiking shoes.

Last year i was pretty much only traveling along the coasts so it may be different in citys?

my partner and i are planning to check out nicaragua for the month of april, 2008.

we have no desire to check out resorts, and just want to rough it (well- somewhat roughing it: running water/decent cleanliness/bathrooms with running water/etc), while surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking/exploring/relaxing.

i want to eat out 3 meals a day so that i don't end up cooking canadian meals while i'm there. how much would you say we need each for everything for one month? oh yeah- we'd totally…

Hello -
Just wondering if anybody has thoughts about traveling in Nicaragua in early/mid June regarding the whole rainy season thing? I'm okay with a few showers - like once a day or whatever - I just don't want the entire time to be monsoons.... I'd like some sun (in fact majority sun!). I also don't want to visit the country at a time when roads and such are going to make it impossible to visit some of the more isolated areas.

Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated - thanks!

Greetings! I will be travelling to the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua in March and I am wondering if anyone knows if you need anti-malaria pills or vaccines for the area? I have travelled to Costa Rica multiple times and never thought twice about it , but seeing as how Nicaragua is less developed, I am curious. If you have any thoughts let me know! And any tips on places to stay in the Corn Islands would be helpful as well:)

My friend and I impulsively bought plane tickets to Nicaragua because the price was simply amazing! However, the flight times are nightmarish, and we won't be arriving to Managua until 12:30am. We have booked a room at the Best Western that we have read is across from the airport. Is it safe to walk there? We have read some pretty scary stories about Managua. What is our best bet for being safe upon arrival?
