is there any direct flights between those two capitals?

most of my research end via panama city, san salvador or via Florida(us)

which makes flights long and expensive due to airports taxes.

thanks for your help.

I'm travelling to Nicaragua soon with my family and my daughter and I are wondering if we should take up luggage space packing tampons or if we can easily buy them there. We'll be staying in Granada most of the time, with a three day trip to Ometepe. Any information would be appreciated!

Hi everyone,

I'm heading to Nica soon and was wondering if this is a feasible itinerary, or if it's too much and we'll be constantly moving (and also, if it's too aggressive, would you choose SJDS or Ometepe?)

-Day 1 (arrive Friday night): stay in Managua
-Days 2-5 (Saturday to Tuesday afternoon): Leon (want to do a 2-day Quetzaltrekkers hike and Cerro Negro). Tuesday night arrive SJDS
-Day 6 (Wednesday): SJDS
-Day 7-8 (Thursday-Friday): Ometepe
-Day 9-10 (Saturday-Sunday): Granada
-Day 11…

Hi everyone,

My husband and I will be visiting Nica in May and we would like to go to the May pole festival in Bluefields. First off, is it worth it? If it is, should we book a room in advance since it should be very busy during that time? Once we get to Bluefields, could we easily book a boat trip or a flight to the Corn Islands? Thanks for your help

Hi all,

I am a Canadian yoga teacher looking for an affordable location to host a yoga retreat in Nicaragua. It would be nice to have a place that could accommodate up to 15-20 people. Doesn't need to be fancy - but a good spot for the yoga practice is important. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

namaste,

carla

Hello everyone,

Heading to Nic for 17 days and wondering what I could fit in.
Spending 3 days on Corn Islands
Ometepe Island
Masaya
Granada
And was wondering if we would have time to explore Jinotege/ Matagalpa (Penas Blancas Massif)
Not sure of how many days to stay in each area, any advice would be helpful. We enjoy wildlife, hiking, kayaking, and off the beaten trail things.

Thank in advance

Want to bike from Finca Venecia(CV Side) to Ojo de Agua.

Is it possible? How far and how long will it take? It looks like the ring road is paved. How steep is main road? Or should we take the bus or arrange some other transport.

Ive looked around a bit in the forums but have yet to find much about this. My girlfriend and I will be traveling to Nicaragua/Costa Rica from May 19 to June 18. Given the length of the trip, we are hoping to let the experience shape itself while we are there, and thus will not have a definite itinerary. We were wondering if we can pretty reliably find a private double bed room on the cheaper end of the spectrum without having to make too many reservations in advance? I think our plan is…

Hi, I'll be heading to Nicaragua next week with a bunch of English-language current events magazines -- recent issues of Time and The Week -- to keep me company on the plane. It seems a shame to just toss them after that, so I was wondering if there are any schools or charities that teach English in Leon that might want them. If so, just let me know where I can drop them off (as long as you're not too far from the touristy areas).

MayJune

Hi everyone.
I am planning on going to Big Corn in May/June.
I decided on Nicaragua based on all the great info on this board, thanks.
On Big Corn, does it rain much during May/June and do the mosquitos increase very much.
Hopefully the winds on the beach will keep the mosquitos away and I will only have to use deet at dusk if I am
out and about.
Also, would it be to hot to see Leon in June, and if yes where else would be cooler in Nicaragua. Although,
I sure would like to see Leon and the surrounding…
