I'm going to have about 16 days for Nicaragua and am having some trouble deciding what to do. Leon and Granada are definites, but the issue is how to fill it out.

Here's where I am so far:

Leon - 5 days, including hikes of Momotombo and San Cristobal
To Granada through Los Pueblos Blancos and Masaya (2 days)
Granada, including Mombacho - 2 days

First, does that timeline sound reasonable?
Second, what to do with the remaining 7 days? Here are the options I've come up with:

Just got back from a week-long trip to Nicaragua and thought I would report back. It was a great trip all in all with remarkably few hitches. A couple of suggestions: I'm so glad we took the advice of posters here and got a shuttle from the airport to Granada (if you don't want to spend the night in Managua) there are very few if any street/directional signs and road rules for that matter - it would be a scary situation if you were unfortunate enough to get into some sort of accident…

I will be heading to Ometepe in a couple of days and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a cheap place to stay that has an internet connection, preferably wifi.

Also, does anyone know if windsurfing is possible anywhere off of the island? Has anyone done and fishing trips on the lake? Any recommendadtions would be great.

Does anyone know of any sustainable building or farming projects in Costa Rica that my girlfriend and I could potentially volunteer on? We´ll be around in July/Aug. Any info would be great, I´m not into paying companies to get us volunteering jobs!
