Are there places in Granada where I can purchase a mosquito net? It doesn't need to be treated with permethrin. I don't want to lug around one for the first three months of my trip which will mostly be in the highlands of Guatemala.
Thanks.

Hi There
Heading to Nicaragua late July will be there till mid August. Just beginning my research.
I plan to study Spanish for a couple of weeks then travel one week. --My Spanish is travel decent just working on improving so I can speak with my student's parents without apologizing.--So anyway I've seen posts and everyone seems to love Laguna Apoya; there is a language school there: Spanish School FUNDECI/GAIA.
My question do you think a week there is too long? --
I will then head to another…
Check out my photos and experience on Isla De Ometepe here: http://adamtsiopani.com/photo-blog/tag/ometepe/</a>
we will be arriving in managua kinda late at nite.... would appreciate any advise about where to stay close to the airport, transport etc.. i imagine it is easy and safe enough to arrive there late, spend the nite and take off the next day.. we'll take about 2 months traveling to panama city.. i hope a plane ticket back to u.s. from pan.. is sufficient for the onward ticket deal, for getting thru.. tips, etc. welcome.. bien viaje, rechoncho..

I have th 2006 edition Lonely Planet guide (Nica & El Salvador) and have found myself wondering if it would be an advantage to buy the 2008 edition Moon guide instead? Its only two years difference and we'll be there for only 10 days (Managua, Little Corn, Granada, and Ometepe.) Still, I wonder about accuracy of bus schedules, accomodation ratings, activity operators, etc.
I'm leaving for Nicaragua tomorrow from Costa Rica and was wondering if anyone has experience getting around Ometepe in the rain. The weather reports show mostly rain. Will I still be able to get around and see the things you should see there? Thanks in advance.
hello, my sister and i will be spending 12 days in Nicaragua, arriving 8 pm May 7th. We're planning on taking a Paxeos shuttle direct from the airport to granada (or should we just take a taxi to the bus station and take a cheaper UCA bus?) and then on to ??? Any suggestions on on how to best spend our time in nicaragua? We'd like to experience as much as possible without spending most of our time journeying from one place to another. We are thinking about going to the corn islands at the end…
Hi Folks,
We're about to head to Nicaragua and want to base ourselves for a month in Leon. I was wondering if anyone who has been there has any information on renting an appartment / room for our time there. We'd need somewhere with a kitchen. I've been searching on the internet and the only things coming up are real estate websites or posh, expensive holiday homes.
We're looking to spend around $200 on a room / appartment for a month - is this realistic or should we look elsewhere on that…
Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!
I have read several posts regarding the Tica bus and have tried reviewing the TICA website... but ... still have a couple questions. Does anyone know how long it takes to get from San Jose to Rivas? Does the 3am bus stop in Rivas? Are there any other bus options from San Jose to Rivas/San Jorge?
Thanks!
Hola!
My boyfriend and I would like to rent a small and economical apartment on the Pacific side of Nicaragua for a month or two.
Our goal is to learn and practice to surf so the closest proximity to a beginners -break- is key!
Please send me any contact info or search engines that you may know of! We are in Panama now and would like to be in Nicaragua ASAP!
Any insight is helpful! Thank you and Happy Travels!
