I'm off to Nicaragua in January and I would like to take a mobile phone for emergencys. I'm going to source a very cheap, very basic tri-band PAYG phone that I won't care if I lose it. Can anyone recommend a PAYG sim that would be suitable? Cheers,

im writing cause in the end of April i'll travel to Nicaragua. I wanna buy just one way ticket, but im "scared" i'll have problem at the airport cause the "one way ticket".. happened to a friend of mine recently: he had to buy at the airport another flight ticket to guarantee he would have go out from the country within 3 months.
I know a lot of people doesnt have this problem, but still... i dont wanna pay a return flight as i dont have any plans for my trip.

Hi,

Does anyone know of any shared shuttle buses from Leon to Granada that might run on Easter Sunday? There's the taxi option, but wondered whether there'd be anything cheaper for 2 of us, seeing as the local buses probably won't be running on that day.

My family & I will be traveling in Nicaragua and after reading reviews we think Ometepe Island will be a great place to spend more of our holiday - we want to stay on the beach and need to make a reservation for Linda's Guest House but don't know how to contact them.
Anybody have an email or phone number for Linda Guest House on the beach ?
Are there car rentals on Ometepe Island or in Rivas?
I found rental information for Managua, Granada and the border with Costa Rica?

Going to Nicaragua in June, and putting together a loose itinerary right now. Just wondering what people's general opinions are on Leon VS Granada. I have a couple extra days that I can add to either one and just not sure which place would be best.

Hi All,
We are planning a trip to Nicaragua (and Guatemala) for 3 weeks in July. We are flying into Managua and then taking a 1 way flight to San Carlos with the idea to have 3 nights somewhere on the Rio San Juan with a day tour into the Reserva Indio Maiz. We then want to ferry from San Carlos up to the Isla de Ometepe. LP guide book talks about the twice weekly ferry from Granada to San Carlos stopping at the Isla de Ometepe which is really long and doesnt' coincide with our time frame…

Time to move on, anyone gone through the Nicaraguan residency process in the last couple years?
