Hi

Starting out a 17-day trip in Nicaragua by enjoying some beach time. Any recommendations of getting from the Managua airport straight to San Juan Del Sur? Is the taxi ride from the aiport to the local bus expensive?
Was looking into the private buses, but it's 40$ per person :(

Thank in advance for your help

Yes, Taxi is the way to go. I think we paid $35US from SJDS back to the airport.

40$ per person

You could probably get a whole taxi for only slightly more than that. Last year we went from Granada to San Juan del Sur for (I think, although I can't remember exactly) $35. Managua - SJDS isn't a lot further than that.

In my opinion, if you've just taken a long flight and are loaded down with luggage, then getting a taxi all the way to your destination is definitely worth it, especially if there's more than one of you traveling and you can split the cost.

Thank you for your input! Yes, for 35$, taxi all the way is worth it, especially since we are 2 travelling.
Any issues with taxi safety, being 2 girls travelling solo?
