Hi there, new to the community and looking for some insight. I'm planning on visiting Nicaragua in the fall and was wondering if anyone had any advice for things to look for/avoid. Help is much appreciated.

Get a guidebook, read back on the Nica pages, read the FAQ, read Trip Advisor, use Google.

Nica is great!

I'm sure spending all that time in Costa Rica makes it seem like one in the same, but - Disneyland is in California. With the 2+ weeks of earthquakes and seismic tremors rattling Nica, that's why #2's advice is spot-on!

I thought Grenada was boring. Big Corn Island was good, I stalled there 5 days and never proceeded to its little sister. Funky and realitively untouristed. Next time I be headed for Ometepe firstest. Im gonna also check out San Juan Sur just so I can say I been there and give qualified advice. Nothing lower than giving advice on a place you never been to.

Granada is a small colonial city in Nicaragua overrun by tourists. Grenada is a very small island in the Caribean overrun by the USA-army somewhere in the 80"s, an hilarious act...
