HAVE READ THAT TOURIST VISA IS 30 DAYS. IS THIS STILL TRUE? ANYONE BEEN TO ESTALI, AND WHATS IT LIKE?
TANKS!

I have been to Esteli three times and I love it there. The people are mainly Sandanistas and you can meet a lot of them who fought in the revolution or the Contra war and learn a lot of history. During the revolution there were a lot of murals painted in many cities but the muralism hs been kept alive in Esteli and the surrounding areas and is amazing. The people are very friendly, the most expensive hotel i Los Arcos and it costs about $35 per night. I usually hang out with friends at a spanish school and stay with a Nicaraguan family. Not 5 star but very wrm and interesting. There are cooperatives outside of town that you can visit and I think the place is wonderful.

TANKS, STILL WONDER ABOUT THE 30 DAY DEAL? AFTER READING THE PRECEDING POST, WAS WONDERING IF IT´S SAFE AS I LEFT MY GRENADE LAUNCHER AT HOME?
