and another post!

ach, you guys are sooooo unsympathetic to those of us who live in places with no mexican food! i was thrilled to vary a bit of nica food with some decent mexican. if you're not interested, what are you doing in this thread anyway? like, someone is forcing you to stay here and whine? i don't think so!

how could i kid about something so important? there are two places in tel aviv that claim to be mexican, but they are more the food and ego fantasies of two chefs who felt they could improve on mexican food by adding mediterranean seafood, asian touches, and a mix of different spices. there are also a few places who think they've added a mexican touch by serving shwarma in a tortilla. no, there are no mexican restaurants in israel!
sorry to hear that, ever thought about sponsoring somebody to start one? i bet it would be a killer business.

Mexican restaurant, that is... Granada can use one.... What Happened to Jimmy 3 Fingers???

Off topic, but this thread reminded me of a business trip I took to Rome 18 years ago. My Italian colleague was anxious to take me to a new restaurant that was the talk of the town. When we arrived, I was "surprised" to find that it was a Tex-Mex place. Fortunately it was full, so we went elsewhere to a good Italian place.
