Can anyone suggest a hotel close to the airport in Managua? I'm arriving around 8pm and fly out to Corn Island at 7am the next day, so we don't want to go to downtown Managua that night. Thanks.

If you don't mind forking over some $, there's a Best Western across the street. You can walk to it.
Nice room, decent food (especially the burgers), awesome pool. Hide your valuables though - crap can disappear from your room.

By the way, this is a dead question as we just booked the Best Western!!! I'm so excited. I stayed in the Best Western Beijing in 2004! Marble floors (seriously), and way too expensive prices (except for an absolutely insane package deal). I wish I would have stolen something from the Beijing Best Western as it seems I'm bound to travel abroad in them and I should have started my collection there. I can't even document my amazing international Best Western journey. Depressing.... Oh wait, I won't be in republican-held America in March. I guess all is great.

Ah, it's a pretty decent place. It was bought by Best Western a few years back, prior to that it used to be called Las Mecedes or something. It has been there for years. It does not feel like a chain hotel at all, sort of a weird throw back to high end travelling in the developing world circa 1969.
Again, hide your stuff, my girlfriend had her cell phone swiped.
