Does the Managua Aiport ATM only dispense dollars? This was noted in a guide book.

Does anyone know if Cafe Dec Arte in Granada is still open? I looked forward to taking a mosaic art class there, but recently read it had closed. True?

Can you buy phone cards in convenience stores in Nicaragua to use at payphones to call the US?

Thank you!

  1. No. Like in virtually all other ATMs in the country, it dispenses both córdobas and dollars. But even if it did it's no problem. Dollars are readily accepted everywhere, and (honest) money changers abound.
  2. No idea, sorry.
  3. No. What you do is go to one of the many internet / call shops that line all towns an cities. There's more call shops than public phones, incidentally. Calls to the US are cheaper than local calls, starting at 1 C$/min. That's 0.05 cents US!

Have fun!

you can get a cellphone in nicaragua for like $10 right now. movistar has the best rates to the US. when you are done you can give it to someone, or keep it for your next trip, they all have sim cards you can change in other countries.
