I just want to know if anyone knows a good tailor/shoe shop in Leon or Granada near the touristy areas. This is by no means the main point of my trip, but I just wonder if I could drop off a few items that need hemming while I go on a hike or tour or something. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

In Granada look for Tienda Ruth near the market on Calle Atrevesada (the main commercial through fare). They do fine alterations. The shoe repairmen are lined up in front of the market also on Atrevesada. They are out there six days a week.

Hey thanks for this, I'm on my way to Granada 1st week July!

As a short guy, I have to hem everything and I'm not expecting to find any GoodWill stores in Nica ;-)

So my crazy question is: Are Nicaraguans generally speaking short like Guatemalan men? It was easy buying pants in Guate, and I'm planning on traveling light and buying long pants when/if I need them after I get to Nicaragua.
Thanks.
