Hi there,

I was just wondering about hotels to stay at in Little Corn Island. I was checking out Graces Cool Spot: http://gracescoolspot.com</a>, and it seems like a fun place and perfect for my budget. However I can't find much information about other hotels within the same price range. Any ideas?

Also, what's the crowds like in September? I hear they have some big parties in Managua, is it the same on the corn islands?

Thanks in advance!!

There are three hotels right next to each other, four if you count the Iguana just minutes away. September should be fine. If you are still worried then book your first night. Carlitos is right next door.

Search Big Corn Island Nicaragua and you will find the Corn Island website. It has a listing of all of the hotels on both Big and Little Corn along with the prices. It will give you a good idea of where to go. As stated, there are several hotels all in a row at Gracies. In September you should be able to go check them out and have your pick.

Depends what you want. if you want to party then one of those hotels ie Grace's is fine. I stayed there but couldn't handle the noise. and there was sand everywhere. If you wanna stay at somewhere awesome go to Derek's place. So stunning and I will go again soon. It is expensive- $25- $40 a night, but once I saw it I threw my budget out the window and stayed for 4 nights. Only downside is that it is a 25 minute walk to the main town area- and at night time it is damn scary to walk by yourself (it's not lit and you're walking through jungle imagining that the noise of the crabs running across the path is people following you...) But Derek makes great food every night too. :)

There are many places to stay in the stretch of beach that has Grace's that are not loud and are much more conveniently located then Derek's. Check them out. I believe Derek's is great for young back packers who want the seclusion, others may not like the rooms or the price. You can stay at Beach and Bungalow in a bunk room with shared bath for $40 and it is much nicer. You share a bath at Derek's anyway.

I guess it depends on your taste :) I found Derek's place to be the nicest place I stayed in my whole trip. Stunning cabins, and for what I paid you have a whole beautiful cabin to yourself, high off the ground with deck and hammock. Beautiful linen, very clean, and there are some with private bathrooms too, though the shared bathroom was so awesome that I used that most of the time! It;s surrounded by the softest grass, like walking on cushions, and a very private beach.

But yes- it certainly is more isolated!! I think it'd be a great place for a honeymoon!!! :) And some people would prefer something more "upmarket" I guess. But it was the highlight of my trip
