Hello,

Just wanted everybody to know....

a) we are in Granada at the moment and staying at Hostal Dorado. We highly recommend this place. Very quiet and quaint. $20US per nite for double room with private bathroom and fan, free coffee-tea, free internet, soap and towels provided. Also available is dvd rental and laundry service. Cold drinks sold here too. Very hospitable. Lovely hammocks to laze about in. Very close to Parque Central. Highly recommend it!

b) Today we did the Volcan Mombacho/Canopoy zip lining tour with David of Tierra Tours. It was $50US. We left a little late at 9:30 and returned at about 3:30 to granada. we absolutley loved the tour. david was amazing and knows lots about volcan mombacho and the plants found within the trail around the craters lip. the zip lining was absolutely fabulous. the guides showed us how to do upside down and superman like moves. we found the tour to be very good value for the money. Request to be put in the tour led by david, and you will be guaranteed a fun time.

thats all for now!

Hey nice update, keep them coming!
I think the majority of the guides at Tierra Tours are really good. We had Bosco for the Mombacho/Canopy zip, and he also had a wealth of knowledge and was a lot of fun during the tours.

Enjoy the rest of your travels.

Also, just to let everyone know, the Lacayo supermarket, across from Hostal Dorado, appears to be closed and no longer in business. The other grocery store, Pali, is good for buying basics. If youre looking for peanut butter, the Pali hasnt got it. There are apparently two place in town that sell peanut butter....Euro Cafe, on the NW corner of the Parque Central; and Cafe Melba one block east and about half a block north of the Tierra Tours office. Cafe Melba also sells cashew butter.
