Anyone know the best way?
Thanks.

best is relative so it depends on your budget, and style of travel.
You could call private transport and have the best luxury/comfort wise, but youll also pay the most by far.
You could taxi it the 2+ hours, and pay 50 bucks or whatever the cab driver wants to charge. at least youll have the car to yourself mostly.
You could take the chicken bus to Masaya, then hop on a bus to rivas/san jorge to get on the ferry. That would be the best money wise, as itll only cost you a couple bucks. But its not going to be the most comfortable ride. or the fastest.
Alternatively, if you have time to hang out, you could just snag a ride up to the highway, and stand on the highway waiting for a Rivas bus to pass from Managua or wherever else. They pass with some frequency, but not like every 15 minutes or anything.
You could hitch rides too, up to the highway, and then catch the back of a truck going south. That will cost free or whatever you negotiate, but isnt a mode of travel for everyone.
