I'm about to wrap up my second week of studying Spanish here in Granada. I have studied Spanish in Guatemala, Ecuador, and now Nicaragua.
These past two weeks have been the best ever for me, no doubt about it.
I studied under the same teacher for all two weeks because she was so awesome. For me, she hit the perfect balance of free conversation, and straight instruction. She had endless patience, and was a real pleasure to learn from.
The school is great, It's in a HUGE old colonial building with so much space. There are these really big windows and doors that let the breeze in. It's right on the Parque Central so there is always a nice low hum of activity in the background. Horse hooves on colonial cobble stone, that sort of thing.
I know this sounds like I'm shilling for the school, but I'm not. I've been on the Thorn Tree for 8+ years now, this is my honest opinion. I really loved this school, and learned so much from this great teacher.

If you can retain her services, you will not be sorry. She also specializes in teaching young children.
Here is a picture of my classroom!
Good luck!
