Ometepe and Corn Island are not even close to the same thing. Go to the islands, Big or Little, they are nice undiscovered Caribbean islands, not like Costa Rica at all. It's hard for me to understand why someone would tell you to go to Costa Rica when you say you need help planning a trip to Nicaragua. That is not really helpful trip planning information. You can get a flight to the islands that leaves Managua early in the morning and arrives at Corn Island before 8AM. The panga leaves at about 10AM so you are there for lunch, not a real hard day of travel. The 2 PM flight gets you here around 3:30 and your there before sunset. Not sure Mr Moto has been here. I've been all over Nica and Costa Rica. Different countries at different points in tourist development. Apples and Oranges.

Ten days seems like to fast paced for ometepe, Río San Juan (el Castillo) and little corn. I would not miss Ometepe. It's just too unique. The ring of jungle around the base of Cocepcion is pretty wild. And LCI so relaxing with friendly island feeling & culture and lots of healthy reef. Río San Juan takes time to get too. Can be slow moving. Selva Negra in the north has cloud forests diverse flora and fauna and is cooler. I'd spend a night in Granada. Avoid SJDS on PAC side. Probably would go something like Managua- Granada-Ometepe- back to Managua then corn islands. You might check around perlas above bluefields or northward for jungle experience. May be easier to get to something wild there closer to the islands than way over on the Río San Juan.

Yes go to Little Corn Island but you need to spend more than 3 days there. I would say half your trip there and half in Granada and Ometepe as said above.

#23-You have been banned a dozen times the last 12 months, as all you do is stalk my post and make negative comments and offer no advice to a traveler, it is a pitiful existence on the forum, you never help anyone on this forum. #13, also suggest Osa in CR, and Panama.....

Based on their interest, time and post, I threw CR out there as a easier alternative with more bang for their buck. I visited Nicaragua for 9 days in 2006. I love Nica, cant wait to get back, we stayed on Ometepe 3 nights, 4 would of been better, and CI needs a week, which we didnt have. SJDS was a major let down and found it far more gringo infested and one the ugliest settings for a tropical beach town in all my travels, best avoided, it sucked.

SJDS is San Juan Del Sur. a surfer town on the pacific coast. A party town. Not to be confused with Río San Juan - the river separating Costa Rica and Nicaragua that runs from Lake Nicaragua to the Caribbean.
