My son and I will be volunteering for a week in a small town near Omoa this winter. Any input would be appreciated, but particularly anything we should try to do, see, eat, etc? (Especially eat)
Also any comments on safety, both political and health. Should we have mosquito netting for sleeping? I hear some people take malaria medication, others don't. Is there a consensus? Any thoughts on the appropriateness of taking a youth to Honduras at this point in time?
Can anyone recommend any hostels or budget hotels? Thanks
Just wondering if it is worth renting a car on Roatan, we found a house rental on the east side by Turquoise bay Resort, how long driving time is this to the west end? How long does it take to drive around the island?
Hi,
I am traveling to Honduras in Jan. I am going to need high speed internet during my stay. Is there really access to high speed or is it just the same old turtle connection?
Any observations would be helpful. Thanks!
Hi
I will be on Utila island over new year and would like a recommendation for budget accommodation (around US $10 - 15 a night) as my guide book does not have many helpful suggestions! I would prefer a hostel environment as I am travelling alone so that would make it easier to meet people.
Thanks, Lizzy

Can anyone tell me what airlines are currently flying this route? Taca's web site no longer includes Utila. I can't tell if Atlantic Air has resumed this route after they had their permit pulled last year. Any thoughts on these or any other options would be appreciated.

santa rosa de copan, santa barbara, la esperanza, siguatepeque, coayagua, santa cruz de yohoa,
el progreso and choloma and san pedro sula

Just spent the last 10 days in Honduras and can highly recommend the place.
I crossed over from Guatemala and stayed in Copan for a few days exploring the very cool little town and of course the ruins, which are outstanding - if you like that sort of thing.
I'd like to recommend a great B & B that I stayed at - La Casa Cafe. Is not a Hostel in the traditional sense, but a lovely, relaxing place to stay with spacious rooms, very comfy beds and en-suites - the attention to detail in the…
