In the way from Copán Ruinas to Comayagua and Nicaragua we intend to visit Gracias and, if time allows, Santa Rosa de Copán. The main issue is how to cover the gap between Gracias and Comayagua, or more precisely Gracias and La Esperanza, since it seems that buses do not run on that road (there are regular buses La Esperanza to Comayagua). To go via San Pedro Sula means to go back a lot and a far bigger distance to cover.

Does anybody know about, or has used, any transportation between Gracias…

We took a 10 day trip to Roatan and Copan at the end of June, start of July. I think I will just write about Roatan tonight. Thanks to many on this forum for suggestions about places to stay and things to see....
Roatan- We took a rough, cheap bus from San Pedro to La Ceiba and barely made the 4:30 ferry. The bus ride was fun, though hot and on a bus that had seen better days (Cotuc, I believe). The ferry was nausiating and exhilerating. We had planned to do all sorts of things on Roatan…

My boyfriend and I were supposed to be certified for free at home this summer by my old bosses father but since I quit that job they don't really like me too much so we were thinking of heading to Honduras to do it as we heard it's cheap. Anyone have any experiences, insights, warnings, rants, or whatever to share. All opinions welcomed and not judged. Well at least no by me.
Thanks!

Three of us are going to be heading to Roatan for some diving and golfing. We are not fanatical about either - we tend to do a single tank dive in the morning and golf in the afternoon or dive and golf every other day. We would also like to stay in an area with some access to restaurants and bars. The only golf is in French Harbour and it seems like West End is the best spot for a lot of the dive sites and accommodation that is near to restaurants, bars, etc. We are hearing that it is about a 45…

Hi all...
Unfortunately this year, the only vacation time I have from work is along with the masses:over the x-mas and new years holiday... I am an independent, adventure traveler who goes out of her way to avoid touristy places, crowds, x-pat parties and other travelers..I know traveling over the holidays is the worst time..so I have been trying to think of places to go where I might be able to find the seclusion and adventure I crave.. Central America as a whole comes to mind... I'm looking…

Hi,

What is the quickest way overland from Roatan to Belize city? I don't think the ferry from Puerto Cortez would work due to the schedule

Also if I took a more leisurely route of say 3-4 days what would be the best route with a little sightseeing?

Hi! I've been looking through a lot of posts here and decided to register instead of just lurk.. :)

I have done some traveling to C.A. Belize, Panamá and just returned from Honduras, Central America intrigues me and everytime I go I love it a little more each time. I am studying Spanish at a college where I live and was thinking of taking 2 weeks off work in January before school starts up again for the spring semester, and going to a Spanish school and do homestay to better my skills and…

I'm leaving next week for Roatan and I"m considering trying to change my flight (if it will even be possible with Taca). I currently land in SAP at 3:30 PM and then have a five hour layover before making the 40 minute flight to La Ceiba - getting me into town at 9:20 PM. Someone on this forum had pointed out that I could take a bus and get to La Ceiba sooner, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it and am wondering if anyone has any opinions. Given my timeframe, I think I'd have to use…
