Just going to be in Utila for one night before moving onto one of the Cays nearby. Any thoughts on Mango Inn or the Lighthouse Hotel? Have you stayed there or have a preference?
thanx

Depends on your budget- Mango Inn is very nice although not on the beach. I am not familiar with Lighthouse- I stay at Rubi's Inn on the harbor.

Mango Inn is fine. I stayed there while diving with UDC. It's only for one night. What have you got to lose? Mike

you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blowa

Lighthouse gets great reviews and I love the location. We're planning to stay there for a week this summer. Even for only a night I'd choose to be on the water. My preference is that you go there and then tell me all about it - which rooms are best, etc. :)

I loved the lighthouse. I was there in february and it was great. It is spotlessly clean and there were no problems with power at all. It is right on the water and within very close walking distance of bandu beach. It also has a kitchenette which worked very well for me.

janetlynne - Are you aware of preferred rooms (location, size?) that I might request?

I think a lot of the rooms are pretty much the same. There are only 12 rooms I think. Some might have two beds instead of one...the ones facing the water outward will have an unobstructed view. I suggest sending Thelma an email and asking her about the room differences. She is wonderfully helpful.

Thanks, janetlynne - I'll do that.
