Anyone have advice on getting from Tegucigalpa to Roatan? We'll be coming from Managua, Nicaragua on the Tica Bus, which I believe arrives at noon in Tegucigalpa (the website isn't very specific so i'm not totally sure).

Ideally we'd like to get to La Ceiba that night (I assume we wont make Roatan, as the last ferry is 4pm).

I'm wondering which bus makes the most sense... I looked at http://www.hedmanalas.com</a> but their site doesn't really show the route from Teg to La Ceiba. Is there a better bus that is more direct not through San Pedro? Someone mentioned Christina bus, but I can't find a website with times.

Also how far is the Tica Bus station from the other stations?

We're traveling with a lot of gear (dive stuff) so looking for the easiest most direct route, even if it costs a bit more than the chicken bus. I'd appreciate any advice.

Thx!

I think a route closer to "how the crow flies" is only possible on back routes that take more time than busing Tegus > SPS > La Ceiba.

See what this website of bus schedules does for you. It also lists the Christina bus line, and shows Tegus to La Ceiba at 6 hours.
