I just wanted to check and see how easy it would be to meet someone at the San Pedro Sula Airport. I am going to be flying down to Honduras a few days before my friends and would like to set up a meeting point where we can't miss each other. The only problem is that I don't really know how the airport is laid out and can't find a map of the airport anywhere online. Would I be able to meet my friends right after they come through customs?

Thanks for your help!

Yes, this should be quite simple. As you enter the terminal waiting area, the customs clearance doors for arrivals are to the far right/back corner. You'll easily identify it from all the others waiting to meet people and from all the money changers. Another thing to look for is there used to be a Wendy's to the right/front corner - if it's still there.

Thanks for the info.. that is very helpful.

Is the terminal waiting area very large? You mentioned there might be a Wendy's there... are there other restaurants in this area as well? I'm just thinking it might be good to have a fall back place to meet in case we miss them at the door. Or maybe I'm just worrying too much...

Jose is right - you shouldn't have any trouble finding eachother. The Wendy's is still there with some tables and chairs in front, and there are no other restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We arrived at SAP two weeks ago, and even though there was a crush of people waiting at the exit to customs, we had no problem finding our ride/contact, whom we had never met/seen before.

Does anyone know, on average, how long it takes to get through customs at SAP? My friends are landing at 1:45 pm on a Tuesday and I'm just trying to gauge when I should expect them to enter the area that I'll be waiting at.

Agree with others. Airport is small, and Wendy's is still there. Just hang out at one of the tables just beside the Wendy's. Met some friends there last year and that seemed to be the easiest. Good luck, have fun.
