I was just in Los Limones this weekend and it is spectacular. It is hidden away on the Salvadoran border on the Sumpul River.
It is near Guarita Lempira about an hour away. It is a very small town and has some great pupuserias. You can cross into El Salvador via a swinging bridge. "El Hammaca". There is great swimming and fishing in the river and nearby you can find Hot Springs. "Aguas Termales". The water is so hot the locals claim you can cook an egg in it. After sticking my foot in it I do not doubt it. Anyway, the area is gorgeous and the only sound you will hear in the night is the crowing of roosters. It is very out of the way but certainly worth the trip to see this area, full of beautiful mountains and some of the friendliest people I have ever met.
