May be somebody did it: what is the shortest, fastest and cheapest way from Flores (Guatemala) to La Ceiba (Honduras)? BY BUSES - NOT by planes or rented car, please. With as little changes as possible, of course.
There is no special interest on the way – just to get quickly from Flores to La Ceiba.

May be any travel agencies have buses on the route?

How many hours will it take in reality?

Any suggestions will be much appreciated

Not really sure that "shortest, fastest and cheapest" go together. Cheapest is rarely as smooth and comfortable and fast as other options. In addition to qwovadis' suggestion, you could bus to Rio Dulce town (Las Fronteras), shuttle to Copan, and bus from there. Here's the Hedman Alas link which I recommend, but they won't be the cheapest. You can get shuttles or less classy buses for less, but likely with more transfers or layovers. Good luck!

Timing: You might be able to take the overnight bus Flores > GC and connect with the Hedman bus from there > Copan > San Pedro Sula > La Ceiba. I think it's about 10 hours to GC, 4 hours to Copan, 3 hours layover in SPS, another 3 to La Ceiba. Sounds like torture plus I've spent more than a month all told in Copan and hate to see you flash past.

I would like to make it clearer – “shortest route” means the way along eastern, Caribbean side of Guatemala. The point is that I would like to avoid the loop through GC, Agua Calliente, etc…

Again: does somebody know the way along Guatemala’s EASTERN BORDER (i.e. towards Livingston, Puerto Barrios, so that I could to cross the border at Corinto – closer to San Pedro Sula).

hopefulist : Time question is crucial this time. I really will be happy to visit Copan under other circumstances.

if you do an advanced search of the Central America forums you will get several results related to your question. The direct route from Flores to La Ceiba would take you through Rio Dulce... so if you search for "Rio Dulce San Pedro Sula La Ceiba" you will find some info - from 2007, unfortunately - but it should put you on the right track.
