Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon in Roatan. We're going for two weeks and for the first part of our trip, we will be staying in West Bay at Infinity Bay. For the second part, we are considering staying in town at West End, and are considering either Cocolobo or Land's End Resort. Land's End is $15 cheaper per night, and they are willing to pick us up at Infinity Bay to their hotel for no charge and take us to the airport. Cocolobo is rated # 1 hotel in West End by Trip Advisor yet Land's End is rated # 2. What are your thoughts, recommendations, and/or advice?

Thank you all in advance!!!

Hmmm, this would be hard, I have not been in either one of the rooms of these two places. I do know exactly were they are, I stayed in one of Blenny's Cabins last march, directly between Lands End and Cocolobo. Both are on the iron shore with decent sunset views. Both have pools.

Were it me deciding I would go with Cocolobo for the sole purpose of having a second story view. I am all about the view. :)

Though being who I am, I truly loved Blenny's Cabin and would return in a heart beat.

What has you attracted to these places, just TA reviews?

I stayed at Lands End Resort in december.

It was lovely. It is a 3 minute walk to the town. The attentive austrian owner recently renovated the inside of the cabins. Spring for an Ocean front room and you will never sleep closer to the ocean. The only draw back is that there is no actual beach at the hotel - it is all rock - but the view is spectacular. There is a platform that you can enter the sea and the reef is right off of the hotel so you could snorkel.

There is a lovely salt water pool. I believe it is an excellent value.

If you are coming from the mainland Honduras - in the event of bad weather, be prepared for a rough ferry ride. They hand out barf bags and motion sickness pills to everyone on board. Of course you can always fly from La Ceiba or SPS.
