I fly into San Pedro Sula on February 14, arriving at 12pm. I plan on catching the 2:30pm Hedman Alas bus. I'm not checking bags, but have read here that getting through customs can be a slow process? Will I have time to catch the 2:30 Hedman bus?

Also: does anyone know if the Tica Bus station is near the airport or Hedman Alas bus station? If so, it would be convenient to purchase my ticket to Nicaragua ahead of time, but wasn't sure if I'd have time before heading to Copan Ruinas. I've read different experiences, some had luck purchasing Tica Bus tickets a day before, while others say you may need to do it a week or so in advance.

I can't help with the Tica bus part but think that the bus companies are probably both represented at the new station. You can get there from the airport by Hedman Alas shuttle (depending on your timing) or by taxi, cost is similar - $10+/-. If you're not checking bags you should be through immigration and customs in 20 minutes, at least that's been my experience. When you have to wait for bags it can take hours. Have a wonderful trip and be sure to tell us all about it!

It was very fast for me a couple of months ago, and I didn't see huge waits for other people either.
