Hi all, I´m looking for some help getting from the bay islands up into Belize as quickly and cheaply as possible. I`m planning on taking the bus to Puerto Barrios and then taking the ferry into Belize (Puerto Cortes I think). Is this possible to to do in a day? Does anyone know the ferry schedule from Puerto Barrios to Puerto Cortes?
Is it possible to get a boat directly from the bay islands? Any idea how much that would cost?

When we we're there (2005) there wasn't a direct boat from the bay islands to belize. We wanted to go in one day and ended up flying ....the fastest way , not the cheapest .
From Puerto Barrios, GUATEMALA, there are several water taxis daily to Punta Gorda, BELIZE, including the following:
Pichilingo 10 a.m. (US$21.50)
Requena's 2 p.m. (US$20)
Marisol 2 p.m. (US$21.50)
From Puerto Cortes, HONDURAS, there are two weekly boats to BELIZE, one to Dangriga and one to Placencia (US$50).
