I am arriving in San Pedro Sula on Christmas Eve in the afternoon. I am planning on taking a bus asap out of the city. Was thinking Tela or to La Cieba then the ferry next day to Roatan or Utila. Any suggestions on where to go for Christmas? Or how transportation is around Dec. 24/25? Any advice would be welcomed :) Thanks!
Hi, I do recomend to go to Tela First, stay a couple of days there , then Ceiba-45 minuts drive-and go to Roatan . Please visit Cayos Chochinos.....Feliz Navidad...
From past experience, there is very little transport running in Honduras on Dec 25th or Jan 1st. Last year some busses did run in the afternoon and the Airports opened at noon with limited flights. If you are headed to Roatan, I would recomend bussing to La Cieba and taking the afternoo ferry over on the 25th. That will get you in ahead of the rush. Alternativly, check out CM Airlines and see if you can book a direct flight to Roatan from San Pedro the afternoon you arrive. Some flights are cheaper these days than the bus and ferry and several cab rides.
