Hola,

We're a few college students planning on going to Honduras for spring break. Tickets are already booked- all that we need to do now is come up with an itinerary. Problem is we only have ten days! Any suggestions? We'll be flying into Tegucigalpa...it seems like most people suggest we just head up to San Pedro Sula and then Copan onto Bay Islands. I know this is a short time, but what else can we see? Obviously it'll be difficult to see most of the country, but we want to explore some really cool and different types of place. Ideas?

Thanks!
Nick

It will be 3 hours/- to SPS and another 3/- to Copán. If you stay there for 3 nights you can take in the ruins, the town, the butterfly place, the bird park, and a couple of great museums - pushed but doable. If you stay 2 nights you could do 2 or 3 of the above. 3 hours to SPS and 3 hours to La Ceiba and you're within striking distance of Pico Bonito National Park; Omega Lodge offers rafting, hiking, horse back riding, and kayaking tours. 2 or 3 nights there would leave you with 4-6 on an island. We have loved both Utila and Roatán. They both have cheap to expensive lodging options with good and inexpensive diving and snorkeling from shore. Utila has more of a backpacker feel and we found it to be a bit cheaper for food but Roatán has more options: nicer beaches, easier access to snorkeling, good hiking, a variety of villages. If you want more time somewhere, leave something out. Lots of pictures and recommendations linked below if you're interested in checking them out. Keep us posted!
