I'm looking to do a volunteer wildlife related project either in Guatemala or Nicaragua...does anybody have any experiences they can share? Recommendations for good projects?

One more thing...if you could visit only one country in Central America, which one would it be?

Checking into Flores hotel
Transportation AFTERNOON to Tikal (get the after 3:30 PM rate, good for the next morning)
Seeing the park towards closing- WITH A…

Hello all,
will be in antigua next weekend and want to climb Acatenango...Any suggestions for somebody that can take me?
I want to do just the day hike and come back to party in Antigua at night!

I have climbed Pacaya before...Is Acatenango the best volcano to climb or is there another one that is better?

Thank you all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to go directly from Semuc Champey (or Coban) to the Rio Dulce area without backtracking through Antigua or Guatemala City? I'm travelling with my wife and three teenagers and we would be willing to hire a shuttle or to take buses. I appreciate any information that…

also look for a bus with metal handles on top of the seats. this will be very helpful to hold on to when the bus makes those hairpin turns on the mountain roads.

the bus takes off after a 10 minute live infomercial of food vendors coming on - gum, ice cream, fruit, nuts you name it if you´re hungry when you get on don´t worry there´s constant opportunity to eat.

the traffic is bad it´s about 10am, the roads are bad - ruts and falling apart - good news construction - they are repaving and widening…
