I'm a single, easy-going straight woman in my late fifties leaving from San Francisco for Guat next Wednesday. I'll be at a conference in Pana on the 14th and 15th. Am wondering if any other single female travelers would like to meet for a cup of coffee, exchange stories or just chat for a bit? Or do a mild hike. My itinerary is fairly open but I want to return to Antigua, Chi Chi and spend a couple of days in Guat. City. I visited there 15 years ago, and speak some Spanish.
Any takers.
Hello everyone,
First of all, I like to thank everyone who contributes to this site. I'm planning a trip for Guatemala in Feburary and all the information on this site has been very helpful.
I was wondering if anyone has been to the ziplines at Tikal and if they are any good. The website says that there are 2 ziplines and for $30 bucks, that just seems rather outrageous. Also, forgive my ignorance, but does Flores have a market on specific days and if so, which days are they?
Thanks =)
Hello again, we're leaving tomorrow...so I think this will be the last question...
My new husband and I are thinking to do the Volcan de Pacaya walk/trek/climb. I wasn't thinking to bring hiking boots (good running shoes yes) or warm clothes will I need them? What about around Guatemala in general, will I need more than a light jacket?
Is the Volcan de Pacaya a difficult trek? I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro last year but this is my honeymoon and I'd like a much more relaxed version of our usual…
Hello all. I have a rather specific question that doesn't overlap with anything I've seen recently.
My girlfriend and I are flying into Gua City on December 18th from New York, via Miami. We arrive GUA at 2:20pm. We're planning on being in Chichi for the evening of the 19th and the 20th. We're debating what to do on the 18th.
We could A) Spend the afternoon and evening in Gua City, and splurge on a nice hotel, and a nice meal - we're traveling cheap the rest of the trip, so I don't mind…
We have searched the web, read the quide books, looked in th TT FAQ
The only thing we have found is to take a cab to the chicken bus station and go to Lanquin through Coban
Are there options for a shuttle?? I thought I read there is an INGUAT at the airport but can't confirm that either.
Would apprecciate any input
Hi, I've been reading through the posts and have gained so much information! I"m hoping you can help me decide on an itinerary since I don't have a lot of time. My friend and I are visiting Guatemala at the end of January. We arrive on a Sunday after 8pm. We definitely want to visit Antigua and Lake Atitlan, and possibly Chichicastenango. I get the impression that we really don't have the time or the money to fly to Tikal.
My original itinerary was
sun-antigua
mon-antigua
tues-antigua
wed-lake
…
Hey - I 'm spending Christmas in Mexico with family somewhere along the pacific coast, but want to take off boxing day to Guatemala for about 10 days. What's the cheepest/fastest way to get there? I was thinking Antigua - but am very open to any other ideas...
Thanks!
Hello, for those of you who are interested in flying into Guatemala from Mexico City (Toluca airport) or Cancun, check Interjet airlines. I haven't used them or even checked their website, but they've been advertising in Guatemalan newspapers and perhaps they offer lower rates than TACA. If any of you uses this airline, please let us all know in this forum.
I would be very interested in reading election results analysis from those living in Guatemala. Would you guys share your insights with us?
