#6 HI JOAN....THANX AGAIN FOR TRYING TO HELP.....GOING THERE IN OCT....ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU.....LET ME KNOW.

Al wrote a book for those of you that don't know. It's called Xin Loi Vietnam. A very interesting read and a great description and feel of the era in Vietnam, coming from a helicopter crew chief's perspective.

Thank you for the great trip report. Do you have something agains shotguns:::: I love 12 guage myself. Started with a 410 but since I put on weight I can use 12 guage now.

Have used a 12 Guage with # 4 buck on several guys carrying AK-47s and I'm the one still standing--but shotguns are just soooo "Civilian". You go to Antigua for the Athmosphere and shotguns are just not cool. Just a tool to use and forget.

Great trip report...but yes, the locals use plastic water bottles and refill them....other plastic they just throw down wherever, though it is gradually getting a bit better most places...there is just so much more plastic available and more money floating through the local economy that money for plastic encased goodies has reached all levels now, just like Pollo Campero wrappers. One of those not so attractive results of economic progress.
The UtzJay prices have REALLY risen! I guess Pana is going upscale like Antigua? THe folks at the UtzJay are very, very nice and we used to stay there before the family divided up the property. It was much prettier and cheaper then, with a big garden and a chalet with fireplace in the living room for guests, but that was no longer part of the hotel last time we checked . I have to check out the wooden computers next time we're there....
