So who knows the latest on the cheap flights Guat City to Tikal and return...when, where, all the latest details. THANKS!!!

The best we could fiind in August was over $100 one way.

TACA is the only carrier I am aware of. Just paid $409usd for 2 R/T GUA-FRS-GUA tickets for tomorrow morning...

TAG also does flights, but to get some semblance of competition, you need to to go by bus. Overnight works for me.

$409 sounds about right for two people. It sucks that it costs so much for such a short flight. Not everyone wants to or has the time to take the 8 hour bus ride.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a cheap flight to Tikal. TACA has taken charge to annihilate any serious competition in Guatemala and other CA countries, so they control the market. They set the rates. They do whatever they want. Governments, particularly El Salvador, do whatever they want. This means it won't change in a while. (Hope I'm wrong)
