Hello...I recently moved to Guatemala, and I have a Tigo phone account. About once a week it looks like Tigo has triple days. The phone company seems a little secretive in how this works. They claim that using your phone on triple days doesn't charge you triple minutes, but others have said they do. My question is: does anyone know how long the triple credit lasts when you charge it onto your phone? Also, do you know if you can use the triple credit to purchase data? Thanks y'all!

From what I understand, you can't use the "promotional credit" to buy data or other plans, or to call internationally, or send to other people. It can only be used for local calls, period. Pretty sure they don't charge triple minutes for using on a triple day... try a few experiments maybe and report back?

Not sure how long it lasts though. Generally I think it's 2 days per week that triple is offered.

From what I have learned, the promotional credit you get on triple days can be used for calls within Guatemala only. When I have purchased 50Q, the promotional credits are good for two weeks. When I have purchased 100Q the credits last for 30 days. If I have existing promotional credits on my account and I buy more credit on triple day, the old promotional credits also get extended with the new credits as long as they have not already expired. Clear as mud?
