Are there shuttles from Antigua on non-market days? We've got a couple of ideas - one is to go to Panajachel, spend the night, then visit the market the next day. (We're planning to spend a few days around Lake Atitlan). The other is to spend the night in Chichi, see the market early the next morning, then head to Lake Atitlan. But so far, I'm just seeing shuttles on market days. Alternative seems to be a private shuttle, but that's a fair amount of $, or going into Guatemala City and taking a bus. Thanks.

There are shuttles...just not many. Maybe one or two. The easiest way.. Take shuttle to Pana. I presume you are then going on a market day. Reason for shuttles on market day is that chicken buses are packed. Rest of the time chicken bus is easy. I'm going to Guat on Monday. Going to the lake on the 18th. I'll go from there to Chichi probably twice...once on market day..via shuttle...and once on non-market via bus up there...may have to rent a truck to haul back my order. Here's how by Chicken bus. Bus from Pana to Solola...if it keeps going to Los Encuentros..cool. Other wise in Solola bus to Los Encuentros. These are short rides and leave every few minutes. At Los Encuentros take a bus to Chichi...easy since that road feeds the whole center of the northern highway. You can always just look lost and go up to any bus and yell Chichi. They will direct you.
