Does anyone know what the most efficient way (by bus) would be to get from Retalhuleu Guatemala to Santa Ana or Juaya, using buses?

On the map and on mapquest Guatemala City looks out of the way, but would it be faster to connect through there anyway since express buses do exists? Would it be unreasonable to try it in one day?

A few years ago, I did bus around Guatamala a little bit, but am totally unfamiliar with the southern route.

You can catch a bus in Retalhuleu to GC and then from GC on to El Salvador. Trans Galgos bus line stops in Retalhuleu if they have passengers there. It's the bus that goes to Tapachula from GC and then returns to GC. Or chicken buses.
