It all depends what you like, but your original plans sound fine as far as # of days in Antigua, etc. You can always leave a day or two early, if you want, or stay a day or two longer in Antigua (or wherever). Watching online videos (if you haven't already) will give you a good feel of each of the different places, although you never know 100% how you will like something until you are there in person.

Thanks for the tip about observing from a balcony! Do you know of any restaurant names off the top of your head where you can do this from?

There are several places/restaurants down by the market with balcony's, you'll see them from the street. Can't remember any names, they all seem all right. A lot of times I would just go up, look at the menu and take some shots, other times I'd just get a beer and hang on the balcony, sometimes actually got food.
The trick is finding the way in to the second story............
Don't hesitate to get shots on the ground as well.

Luc, good to hear your out of that place, healthy food is still much better than hospital food, hopefully you'll be able to have beer/wine soon. Get better dude.

That's a really great idea! I am an amateur photographer, so relaxing on a balcony while observing the craziness of the market sounds like a nice way to spend some time there, after checking out the market myself obviously.

Thanks again!

I can't handle the hustle and bustle of markets. Stresses me out. So I scan the second floor for a balcony bar and or dining establishment. I look for a door at street level with an ascending stairwell, but failing that I just scale the wall. And up there, the world below can't bother me.
