Hi everyone!

I am planning to stay in Antigua for four days, while doing a half day trip to Pacaya and also checking out the Macadamia Farm, Caoba Farms, Cerro de la Cruz, the markets and wandering the streets to photograph the colonial buildings and churches.

Do you think that four days is enough time to do all of this? Just looking for some advice from those who have been to Antigua.

Thanks :)

Yes,you can do that in 4 days.

Four full days in Antigua is plenty for me.....

It would help to know your entire route, 4 days in Antigua is a lot.

You can do all those things in 2 days, easy.

Thanks for your input!

After Antigua, I am heading to Lake Atitlan for 8 days staying in four different villages, and then Flores and Tikal for 3 days and finally back to Guatemala City to catch my flight home.

I advise to strive for 2 days in Antigua. For me an afternoon was enough to see the town sights. I especially enjoyed the collapse churches.

Chichicastenango is only a couple hours away from Atitlan. You might consider moving a night or 2 from Antigua and move to ChiChi, especially if you get in town on Saturday afternoon and watch them set up, very cool.

Posada El Arco is a great place to stay, just a few blocks from the plaza.

I was planning on visiting Chichicastenango on a day trip from Panajachel. Is it close-ish to there?

1-2 hours, depending how you go...public transport is cheaper but slower.

I would also recommend staying the night there....El Arco as above.Nice evening atmosphere. You can then get up early morning and watch the locals at the market...take photos etc before all the day trippers arrive.

If you can spend at least 1 night in ChiChi, Wednesday or Saturday night, try and avoid taking the normal day tourist bus. It's an easy cheap couple hours from Pana.
It's an interesting town and fun to watch them set up for Thursday or Sunday market, the market itself is so, so.

Good photo tip is grab a beer on a second story balcony and take some shots of the market, they don't notice you!

The Sololá market, 1/2 hour from Pana is pretty cool as well.

For lodging liked Posada EL Arco, p#4584-0061, cheap, great atmosphere and close.
