I'm planning on visiting Guatemala for 3 nights in November. I'm interested in historical sights and culture. Not that big a budget but looking for medium range hotel which is conveniently located. any tips on where to stay, visit and how/when to get there? I'm coming from Chicago

I'd stay in Antigua and do day trips. We stayed at Casa Cristina and enjoyed it very much - $25/double with free drinking water and internet, great location, helpful staff. Sorry you only have 3 days!

If it's full...and Antigua is indeed where you stay..then go here. Since all you will have time for is one town...and Antigua is the logical one... go up to the top of this branch and download the Antigua chap. to LP Guat. It seems like you could use it. Keep an eye out...I'll probably be there too.

I've booked Casa Cristina for 7 nights in November. Seems like great value to me.

Casa Cristina is good. I'll probably stay there next month while in Antigua. Dunkin Donuts around the corner. Go to the end of the block and there is a nice coffee shop that serves breakfast and light meals. When I was there over New Years it was mainly Thorn Treers staying there.

It was your comments that made me decide to book the place. I was just going to turn up and find somewhere.
Well i keep an eye out for any thorn treers. I'm there for a week from the 3rd to 10th November.
