Exchaning $US to $EUR at Guat City Departure Area

Hi there,

I'm flying to Cuba from Guat City in a week, can anyone tell me if there is anywhere in the departures area that I can exchange $US notes to $EUR notes before I fly out? I will be travelling alone and don't want to carry Euro's around with me in Guat City, i'd feel safer if I could get them before I jump on the plane.

Hello there, I was at the airport last week and I hope I'm wrong but, I didn't see a bank or anything of that sort in the departure area where you can exchange money. Keep in mind that they're not done with that airport and not everything is open yet. So, if I was you and just to be on the safe side, I'd do it the day before at your nearest bank. Good luck.

There is a small bank run counter where you pay your security tax but I don't know if they do exchange. I'm flying soon but looks like you will travel about the same time. If you already have dollars in cash, why the worry about converting it to Euros? Most thieves in Guat. wouldn't know what to do with a Euro.

Yeah, I thought that too. Why the worry about denomination on money. Thieves can convert money too.
