Hello travelers, need fresh information about:
How difficult is to change euros all along Guatemala?
If mainly dollars are accepted, how old the notes should be?
Gracias.

You don't want to mess with Euros in Guatemala! Dump them.
Use the ATM's for Q's, some will actually give out US dollars if you want.

$20 dollar notes are accepted in most decent size cities but you'll get Q's back for change. Use the US bucks as a reserve, only when you need to.

$20 us dollars should be reasonably new, crisp bills, no tears or writing. All US notes should be crisp, I also carry 1's, 5's and 10's.

Where do you start off in, Antigua?

I travel january15th from Cancun.
Then travel to the west and south in Yucatan and Campeche. Will spend 3 weeks in Mexico, 4 weeks in Guate.
Thanks for the info.

USE the ATM. You get killed with Euros. Bring USD as well.

Know what your doing and where to go?

If you like ruins I highly recommend Calakmul, www.ecoturismocalakmul.com/ amazing place, great jungle, wildlife and no people. Very close to the small town of Xpujil in Campeche. a lot of nice ruins by the town, Becan is my favorite.

Nice trip dude!
