driving to guatemala

Does anyone know what is required to drive a motorcycle bought in Mexico to Guatemala? Its a new purchase and there are no license plates available but have the nessesary paperwork showing ownership and that the plates are paid for, just dont have them.
Anyone see issues?

I would check the Motorcycle forums, Horizons Unlimited or ADV....

When you say "the necessary paperwork showing ownership" I trust you mean the Title?. Only the Title document in your name will get you across the border...not a notarized bill of sale or anything else. If you have that you can attempt to cross without plates but I wouldn't. Be prepared to be turned back...
