Lots of info here..especially the Border Formalities.

Don't leave anything in the car unattended, park in secure guarded hotels at night. Avoid Capitals as best you can.

There is a shuttle between Antigua and Leon Nicaragua, but can't find the info....Nicaragua is worth 5-7 days alone, with a car, try to explore the north, as few get there due to transport time factors...

. Avoid Capitals as best you can.

¿Why?

There is a shuttle between Antigua and Leon Nicaragua, but can't find the info...

Likely because the shuttle is between El Tunco SV and Leon, not Antigua!

Capitals are congested, confusing and crime ridden...

A generic description of capitals that may apply to San José but not, from my experience, to Guatemala City, San Salvador or Panama City and only to a limited extent Belize City, in areas where a tourist has any business being.

Actually enjoy my monthly trips into San Salvador.
