Dental work

En Antigua, no but I highly recommend Dra. Lily (Lily Contreras) in Panachel. She has done work for me, my maid and my daughter. A couple of crowns for me, bridge for my maid and fillings and whitening for my daughter. Her office is upstairs from Banco Industrial on Calle Santander.

One of the times I went there she was speaking English with a Gringo if that is an issue.

I have gone to Doctora Ligia Porras in Antigua several times and had good experiences, well good considering it was a dental visit. Her office is on a side street about a block or less from Parque Central.

One time I had a couple root canals done. She does not do the root canals--just the prep work. An endodontist came in with his assistant and did the work in her office.

I had a good experience with a dentist in Xela once, too--forgot her name but her son is a dentist, too (specialist) in the Pradera.

Another vote for this dentist in Antigua. Had her do a crown for me some years back. Prices have risen but still much more affordable than USA.

Dr Porras is on 5a calle poniente a few doors west from the park's 5a Avenida, on the north side of the street.

Hi, I just had quite a bit of work done by Doctora Ligia Mejia de Ortiz, 3rd Calle Oriente #13 in Antigua between 2nd Avenida and 3rd. Telephone number 7832 0508. Email oarecepcion1@hotmail.com. She speaks English and is very gentle. I believe she had training in the US. She also has an endodontist come from the capital to do root canals. This is my second trip to see her and she was able to make several appointments close together to accommodate me. I've seen a lot of dentists in my day and she seems to be modern, up to date and very clean. Her receptionist speaks Spanish so if you call you will need to have some Spanish or email if you only have English. Her clinic is called Orto Antigua. Good luck.
