Yes,I remember! Two great countries to travel in.....I'll be back in Indonesia next year, and hopefully in Guatemala in the not too distant future....
lucapal, thanks for the help on both trips. I was actually hoping to return to Indonesia next spring. But, I have tons of milage to use before Delta Airlines devalues it yet again. There used to be more than enough for a flight to Indonesia, but they greatly devalued the miles a few years ago. The good news is that there is still plenty for a flight to Guatemala and return from Mexico with enough left over for a domestic flight sometime later. Besides after 13 years, it's about time I go someplace outside of S.E. Asia. Happy Travels! And I cannot wait to hear about your next trips.

hi, Copan Honduras is very different from the ones in Guatemala. You see a lot of statues and colors. I would prefer to go to Copan and uaxatun/tikal. Have a great trip. Go70
Thanks go70. We have just arrived in Guatemala at the ungodly hour of 6 am today and are now in Antigua... loving it already!!! After 4 days more here and 2 nights in Guatemala City we have shuttle tickets to Copan Runas booked. I am really looking forward to further adventures in this beautiful country.

Been to Guatemala many times but not to Indonesia. What do you consider a good price for flight? Right now RT flight from Phillt to Guate City is $551; RT flight Philly to Bali is $650. I'd jump on the Bali deal but I already bought tickets to Mexico for a flight next week.
The Bali flight looks very good. We generlly pay around $700-$800 from San Francisco. We used frequent flyer miles for Guatemala. However, when checking last summer, I was surprised that the flights were not much cheaper than to Indonesia.

Deals come and go. Been to Guate for $320 a few times; Was just in Peru for $340 but have gone there for $270. Chile was pretty good at $340 but it is up to $900 now. That deal to Bali sold out by the way.
You guys on west coast are lucky as you get the RT flights to NZ with a 4 day stop in Tahiti for $800.
hopefulist, Thanks for the suggestion of Comedor Mary y hotel y Pupuseria! We stayed there 4 days and loved it. The rooms are spoless and big, staff were wonderful and they all turned out to see us off, even the owners. Defintiely eat at their restaurant next door. It was some of the best food we have had so far on the trip. Few of the staff speak English, so brush up on your Spanish or ask for Misoel at the restaurant. He speaks English quite well. The town of Copan is lovely and the ruins were amazing. So far the trip has been great. Thanks everyone for all the help.
