Hey Sofia, searching for something else I found this website which is a list of hotels with rates and telephone numbers in GC. Most of them are close to the airport which is a safer area than zone 1 after dark. It would also make it easier for you to start riding from this area. So check out www.alfatravelguide.com There is also a map of guatemala. Have a safe ride and keep us posted as you go along as you'll find internet cafes all over the place at real cheap rates.
